Hi Everyone
Below is an article i found in the internet which tell us what is healthly lifestyle. You might not know the answer. :)
"Indeed a question worth pondering, especially when our health authorities are advocating it. Definitely not simple to answer, for a healthy lifestyle goes beyond balanced diets and exercises. In fact, it is a total way of life, encompassing the physical, mental and emotional aspects.
The most obvious proof of a healthy body and to own one, we must first eat right. The principle of healthy eating is simple. Enjoy a wide variety of foods. Treat yourself to lots of fruits and vegetables gain vitamins, minerals and fibre.
Research shows that these foods may keep certain cancers and heart diseases at bay. Boost your energy with carbohydrates such as cereals, bread and rice. Consume adequate proteins like milk, meats and legumes, especially for children and adolescents. And to reduce risks of obesity and heart diseases, go easy with fats and oils.
Good food must be aided by good eating habits to generate positive healthy benefits. So, make simple adjustments like eating moderately to maintain your ideal body weight, observing breakfast, having regular meals, reducing salt and sugar intake as well as drinking plenty of water.
Next comes what we dread most - exercise. Before you make excuses, ask yourself these questions. Do you want a fit heart, efficient lungs, strong muscles and a svelte figure? More stamina? Or perhaps, improved cholesterol levels? If you answered "Yes", start exercising for about 30 minutes, thrice a week. Exercise does not need to be grueling. Walking, swimming and cycling are excellent. Do take sensible precautions, though, to avoid injuries.
Stress is another factor to consider in our quest for a healthy lifestyle. Minor stresses are acceptable as they stimulate us towards better performance. However, excessive stress can turn life into an emergency and damage health. Recognise the signs of stress and identify the sources. Then, manage it as best as you can. Pack some of the following into your life as they are known to help reduce stress - a positive outlook, realistic goals, caring friends or relatives to share your problems, rest as well as recreation. And have sufficient sleep. Nothing beats a good night's sleep in refreshing the body and mind.
Lastly, a healthy lifestyle is free from the clutches of alcoholism and drug abuse that harm our body and cause social ills. Are you addicted to cigarettes? If you are, the numerous smoking-related conditions like cancer, heart attack, stroke and its negative effects on pregnancy may hopefully make you quit.
Clearly, a healthy lifestyle is worth practising. It adds years to your life and life to your years. So, for a good life in this millennium, adopt a healthy lifestyle today!"
