I listened to the radio and the DJ mentioned this short story.
Do you know the meaning of 卖力? The meaning is telling us to put in extra work and effort to achieve what we want. 卖 & 麦 have the same pronunciation. Actually the origin of 卖力 come from 麦力. 麦 is wheat. Here the story goes...
麦 can fall into 3 categories.
No 1. 麦 packed together and resale or export to other countries.
No 2. 麦 form into flour or other product to make bread,wine etc.
No 3. 麦 put back into bare floor and grow a lot of 麦 again.
So if you are 麦, which categories you will fall into? There is a meaning behind it. Will explain each category meaning to you for my next post. :)
